After spending over 2 years travelling the world, I arrived back in Australia on 12 September 2014. That’s VERY close to being a whole year in the same country – and my home country at that!
I’ve decided that will not do!
It was my 30th birthday (eeek!) on 23 August 2015, so I’ve decided my birthday present to me will be a couple of weeks overseas. So, on 2 September (10 days before the dreaded full year hits!) I fly out of Sydney on Etihad to London via Abu Dhabi! Woohoo
The itinerary is:
- Fly Etihad Sydney > Abu Dhabi > London
- 2 nights in London catching up with some friends
- 3 nights in Belfast catching up with friends and family
- A week in Greece for a warm sunny holiday (a few days in Athens and a few days on an island
- Fly Etihad Athens > Abu Dhabi > Sydney
I’ve spoilt myself for the flight over – paid the extra for a seat with extra leg room! Sadly I’m not able to afford Business Class – but maybe one day!
The flight back from Athens only cost about $15 as the rest was paid with frequent flyers – so I’m pretty happy with that! Happy birthday points 😉
I’ve never been to Greece, so I’m very excited about it – and the fact that history is in the making there as well with their financial situation makes it more exciting! Several people have told me I should avoid Greece at the moment due to the risk of not being able to get money and protests etc – hells no! I’m going, and I’m going to enjoy it! Do my part for their economy.
So, look forward for some posts coming soon with information and photos from London, Belfast and Greece!
